This very unique new CD has 25 beautiful pop-flavored songs by Jim Reeves, including ones you have probably never heard him sing before! As a bonus 15 of these tracks are presented here for the first time in STEREO. Jim recorded some of them in the days of 1-channel monaural. Now, new audio technology called “DES” (Digitally Extracted Stereo) makes it possible for engineers to take a mono master and separate the instruments and vocals into individual tracks that can then be mixed into authentic-sounding stereo with true channel separation like a modern, multi-track recording. 

It’s a laborious and time-consuming process—akin perhaps to restoring an old master canvas that has been painted over. You hear much more detail in the original music, and Gentleman Jim really comes alive!

WHY IS IT SUCH A BIG DEAL THESE SONGS ARE TURNED FROM MONO INTO STEREO? This from Google: "Stereo sound is generally considered to be better than mono sound because it can create a more immersive and realistic listening experience. Stereo sound uses two audio channels, left and right, to separate the different elements of a song and give them more space to shine. This creates a sense of space and directionality, allowing the listener to perceive where instruments or voices are located within the audio mix. Stereo sound can also reproduce a wider range of frequencies and provide a higher level of detail than mono sound." So THAT's why it's a big deal when Jim's tracks get the new treatment.
