INCLUDES UNRELEASED NEW DEMOS BY JIM! A total of 31 tracks, (21 NEW OVERDUBS) of songs you may have heard before, but most of these are alternate versions and NONE of them are RCA masters. They all have sparkling new musical backings by some world-class musicians, imparting a fresh sound to Jim Reeves's timeless voice.

And this CD contains one of the rarest performances by Jim of all time, whereby he sings back-up to Blue Boy Bobby Dyson, who carries the lead, on a song called "Thanks for Calling" (which has never been released before)! Think of it! JIM sings in the background while a member of his band solos. WOW!

As a bonus there are also some false starts and studio dialog. Several of the uptempo songs are more spirited as Jim really lets loose and sings them the way he wants to do them during his demo sessions/rehearsals, and not how his producer at RCA may have wanted the final vocals to sound.

 Although some tracks have lush strings and even harp and French horn, the majority reflect his Texas roots. They're more "country" in flavor, with new backings provided by members of the current Grand Ole Opry band and other world-class musicians! Some of these tracks were previously overdubbed by RCA years ago but sounded foggy then; new digital technology has brought an impressive clarity to these songs which now sound like studio masters.

Highlights include a rockabilly approach to "Send Me Back My Love," an earthy new feel for "Most Of the Time" (with dobro and mandolin), pretty strings on the waltzes "One Little Rose" and "Kentucky Waltz," and an amazing restoration of the toe-tapping "Never Take No For An Answer." Even "He'll Have To Go" gets an appealing acoustic makeover, as does "Is It Really Over?" Plus there's a great new rendition of "You're Slipping Away From Me" with Spanish guitar!

There's also a booklet with fascinating insights into Jim.

This is Jim Reeves at his "country best" with updated musical settings to support his rich "velvet" baritone voice. A real collector's item for any Reeves fan to enjoy and one of the best-selling releases on Jim in recent years!
