"GORDON MOTE: THE STAR STILL SHINES"

$ 16.95

If you're looking for a fresh take on Christmas, you've found it in “The Star Still Shines.” Blind since birth, vocalist and keyboardist extraordinaire Gordon Mote began playing piano at the age of three and toured with his family’s singing group until his undeniable talent made him an award-winning Nashville session player for such artists as Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Lorrie Morgan, Rascal Flatts, Lionel Richie, and Alison Krauss. (Gordon is also the winner of a 2011 Academy of Country Music Award and a 2012 Music Row Award).

Good Music is very proud to present this new Christmas collection, which is sure to please fans of Gordon’s eclectic gospel, inspirational, country and R&B vocal styles. From poignant to powerful, this inspiring holiday project celebrates the “Christ” in Christmas in the fresh, creative and heartfelt manner that has made Gordon one of the brightest emerging artists in music today.

The album is anything but cliche. It includes Michael W. Smith’s classic “Emmanuel” and Steven Curtis Chapman’s “Christmas Is All In the Heart.” In addition to Mote's warm vocals, he demonstrates his piano playing skills with instrumental interludes of ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem,” “Away In A Manger” and “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” The first single from the project, an exhilarating vocal/keyboard arrangement of “Go Tell It On the Mountain” was released to radio last Christmas.

The highlight of the album are the female vocals by Kimberly Mote and Angie Rodgers on “From Bethlehem To Calvary.” Simply beautiful, with Gordon's accompaniment.
