Some of the songs are classics, while others may be unfamiliar to you. First and foremost, the producer has been careful to preserve the intimacy, simplicity and authenticity of Elvis’s vocal performances through expert remastering and remixing.

The musicians who played on this new CD have backed major stars like Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Patti Austin, Barry Manilow, Carrie Underwood, Willie Nelson, Norah Jones, Don McLean, Jaci Velasquez, Paul Simon, the Dixie Chicks and more. One of them even played for the Pope!

The repertoire runs the gamut from Memphis/Sun studio-style rock and blues, to pop stylings with lush strings, to Nashville with steel and dobro, to Latin-flavored up-tempo (including twin trumpets), some quiet ballads with an acoustic feel, a reworking of a Presley Gospel number and even a beloved traditional Christmas carol — “Silent Night” — on which, for the first time, Elvis is backed by an angelic children’s choir! It is a tour de force of some of Elvis’s best vocal performances.
